What We Don't Allow
Content that will be removed or moderated
Harmful Content:
- • Threats of violence or calls for harm
- • Harassment, bullying, or targeted abuse
- • Doxxing or sharing private information without consent
- • Content promoting self-harm or suicide
- • Hate speech or attacks based on identity (race, religion, gender, etc.)
Misleading Content:
- • Deliberately false information or disinformation campaigns
- • Impersonation of others
- • Manipulated media presented as authentic
- • Scams, fraud, or phishing attempts
Disruptive Behavior:
- • Spam, excessive self-promotion, or advertising
- • Off-topic comments intended to derail discussion
- • Repetitive posting or flooding
- • Coordinated manipulation or brigading
Illegal Content:
- • Content that violates Irish or EU law
- • Copyright infringement
- • Distribution of illegal materials
- • Child sexual abuse material (reported immediately to authorities)
User-Generated Content
Comments, submissions, and community contributions
When commenting or submitting content to The Irish Bugle, you agree to the following:
- • You retain ownership of your content
- • You grant us a license to display and distribute your content on our platform
- • You are responsible for the content you post
- • You will not violate others' rights or applicable laws
- • We reserve the right to remove content that violates this policy
- • We are not liable for user-generated content

Moderation Approach
How we enforce these standards
Moderation Methods:
- • Pre-moderation: Some content may be held for review before publishing
- • Post-moderation: Content reviewed after publication based on reports
- • Automated filters: Basic spam and abuse detection
- • Human review: Final decisions made by moderators
- • Community reporting: Users can flag problematic content
Enforcement Actions:
- • Content removal: Violating content will be deleted
- • Warnings: First-time or minor violations may receive warnings
- • Temporary suspension: Repeated violations may result in temporary bans
- • Permanent ban: Serious or repeated violations may result in permanent bans
- • Legal action: Serious violations may be reported to authorities
Appeals & Disputes
If you disagree with a moderation decision
We aim to moderate fairly, but we recognize we may make mistakes. If you believe content was removed in error or your account was wrongly suspended, you can appeal:
- • Email editorial@bugle.ie with the subject "Content Policy Appeal"
- • Include details about the content or action in question
- • Explain why you believe the decision was incorrect
- • We will review appeals and respond within 7 days
Note: Abusive or harassing appeals will not be considered.
Changes to This Policy
How we update our standards
We may update this Content Policy from time to time to reflect changing standards, legal requirements, or community needs. We will notify users of significant changes and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of our platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
